Getting started with your divorce in Cobb County is just a three-step process:
Whether you and your spouse have minor children together, the process starts the very some way -- you just fill out and submit our online Client Inquiry Form. That usually takes just a few minutes (more if you have children) and your information is submitted to us in confidence. Select the link below to begin filling out the form
Next, you need to contact our office to set up the meeting -- again this will be a telephone meeting if no minor children are involved but we usually ask you to come in for a meeting if you and your wife have minor children together.
To schedule either type of meeting, just give us a call during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at (770) 794-3220. Or, simply select the link below.
You can do that best by having all of the information about bank accounts, retirement accounts, debts, real estate and other property at your fingertips. If you have minor children together, you will need to also have documentation of your monthly gross (pre-tax) income, your spouse's gross income and the monthly cost for health insurance (not including vision or dental) for your minor child(ren) only. You should have all of this information and anything else that you believe may be important for the attorney to know about available to you at the meeting. If you have any questions about that, you can always call us at 770 794-3220.
Have Minor Children?
If you and your spouse do not have any minor children together, we start your case with a telephone conference. The telephone conference typically takes about 45 minutes but we usually schedule a full 90 minutes so that we have plenty of time to go over all of the issues in your case without being rushed. Make sure that you provide the telephone number that you want us to call to start the meeting.
However, if you have minor children together (under age 18) we usually require a conference with you at our office. That usually lasts about 90 minutes but we schedule a full 2 hours to make sure that nothing is overlooked in our detailed discussion with you.
The cost of divorce in Georgia does not have to be expensive. In an uncontested divorce, for example, the parties have agreed in advance how to divide marital property, allocate debts, arrange for custody of minor children, and set child and spousal support. To schedule your personal consultation with Robert L. Jones, an experienced Cobb County divorce attorney, contact us online using the "Getting Started" link above or call (770) 794-3220.
Uncontested divorce can be a great fit for military families who have limited time and financial resources and need to get the process completed correctly and quickly. With the increased schedule demands on military families it can seem almost impossible. Robert Jones helps military families work through the special legal and financial issues to resolve their divorce as efficiently as possible.
